The Red Rili Shrimp, a captivating color variant of the Fire Red Shrimp, emerges from selective breeding within the Neocaridina species. Originating from the vibrant Red Cherry Shrimp lineage, Red Rilis are distinguished by their bold translucent white and red striping, a result of meticulous selection. These shrimp exhibit consistent brightness, with red hues at the head and front, transitioning to translucent white striping along the middle body, and concluding with a red tail, although variations may exist depending on breeding lines.

Resembling their Red Cherry cousins, Red Rili shrimp sport a transparent band encircling their midsection. Despite this distinction, they share many characteristics with Red Cherries, belonging to the Neocaridina species known for its tolerance to high GH and KH levels. Developed around 2010 and stabilized thereafter, Red Rili shrimp thrive under similar care conditions as cherry shrimp and other Neocaridina variants.

While considered beginner-friendly, Red Rili shrimp, owing to selective breeding, exhibit slightly heightened sensitivity to tank parameters and fluctuations. Nonetheless, with proper care, these shrimp reach breeding age healthily, adding vibrancy and allure to any aquarium setup.

Received about 20 shrimps, they were all alive however the water had high ammonia due to lots of waste in the bag. I slow dripped to acclimate them ( over 12 hrs), however I was able to save only 6 out of 20 by the next morning. The 6 were not looking so good, however as soon as I put them in the tank they seem to do better. Will see if they will die in the next few days. I’m not sure if I will get from this vendor again. I had a different ( more positive) from a different vendor. Although I have to say they did include more than 20 shrimps ( probably around 25 very young ones) trying to cover the loss

Hey Hoa. Sorry to hear. I unfortunately cannot control the waste the shrimp produces. In situations where the ammonia is high, it’s best to remove them from the bag after it has temperature acclimated vs dripping. I didn’t notice an email or contact from you for this situation. Did you end up reaching out to us?
