The Green Jade Shrimp, a beloved choice among freshwater shrimp enthusiasts since early 2010s, boasts a captivating green hue reminiscent of jade. Originating from Taiwan, Green jades are from the diverse chocolate shrimp family tree within the Neocaridina genus. These shrimp offer more than just visual appeal. They are renowned for their ease of care and breeding, making them a popular addition to aquariums. Against a dark substrate, their brilliance truly shines, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the tank.

Green Jades are not only visually striking but also play an active role in tank maintenance. Their voracious appetite for scavenging waste and feeding on biofilm and algae helps keep aquariums clean and balanced, reducing the need for frequent maintenance. However, their lineage from chocolate shrimp means they possess the potential for a plethora of colors and grades. To maintain the desired vibrant green coloration, selective breeding is essential.

While their name suggests a jade-like green appearance, Green Jade Shrimp can exhibit a spectrum of colors beyond green. Variations such as green-yellow, green-blue, or even green-black are possible, adding an element of diversity and intrigue to their presence in aquariums. With their stunning appearance and low-maintenance nature, Green Jade Shrimp are a dynamic and captivating choice for any freshwater shrimp hobbyist.

Arrived with half of them berried! All alive, and their color was really nice! They’re surprisingly big!

21 adults and a handful of juveniles showed up when I ordered 20. They have wonderful coloration and seem healthy. No DOAs.

However be careful with Paypal, their system auto enters Paypal’s address on record. Despite contacting them about that address error, the shrimp still showed up at the wrong address. I was lucky enough to catch the new resident of that address, otherwise I fear what would of happened to the shrimp.

When contacted about the error they were extremely responsive, like within a few minutes of me sending the email. But it seems they were unsuccessful in changing the shipping address.

I picked up my order from the post office today and I couldn’t be happier. In spite of it being held at the post office an extra day I only had one loss (an Amano shrimp) but also two of my other bags (the cherry and the culls) contained a bonus tiny baby shrimp! So I actually got more than I paid for. ALL the shrimp were very active in the bag and are now happily swimming around in my tank! Thank you so much
